Some, caught in the act, cited others whom the police were then able to arrest.
Among them are alleged perpetrators of murders and burglaries.
The city authority to whom these alleged bandits were presented, indicated that ” this is only the beginning, because the security forces are activated in order to track down all the bandits who insecure the city”.
For his part, the communication officer of the police in Beni, Nasson Murara indicated that all these alleged criminals will be transferred before their natural judges so that they answer for their actions.
“All these stolen goods are already seized by the police, they are in our hands, which the people always pass for verification and they must first pass for the filing of complaints against the unknown. And we will always continue with these operations so that the city of Beni feels safe”.
Most of these alleged criminals were arrested in the districts of the commune of Mulekera, the others in the Matonge district and in Malepe; urban entities where cases of insecurity have increased in recent times. All of these suspected offenders will be brought before their local magistrates to give an account for their deeds, according to Nasson Murara, the police communication officer in Beni.
Robbery victims were advised by Nasson Murara to visit the police station:
“All of these stolen items have already been confiscated by the police; they are in our possession. The public always passes through for verification and must first pass through for the filing of complaints against the unidentified. And we’ll constantly keep up these activities to provide the city of Beni a sense of security.
